A friend sent me a few items. One is a nice snake knot, black and brown gutted paracord, attached to a key chain lighter with a lobster clip and the other I used as a zipper pull on my jacket, OD green 'Type I' paracord and light green 2mm cord with a cobra stitch and a Micro Aerohead cord end.

The lighter is perfect for my habit of an occasional cigar and pipe tobacco. And the zipper pull has already come in handy on my jacket. Thanks Ken, I appreciate it.

Miniature Monkey's Fist

This is the smallest Monkey's Fist I've made. I used 0.9mm braided nylon cord(off ebay) making 5 turns around a 6mm airsoft bb(the bb's I use actually glow in the dark). They make good cores for the smaller fists that I've made as zipper pulls and earrings.

The candlelight mode setting on my digital camera(my 3 year old Casio QV-R51) makes the bb's glow from within the white cord look much brighter than it actually is, but I think it still looks like a cool effect.

Long 3 bight Turk's Head

I followed Bud Brewer's photo tutorial, on the Knot Heads World Wide website, to make this long 3 bight Turk's Head on a Mini Maglite. I made 3 passes with 1/16" Cool Glow Stuff glow-in-the-dark cord, then a couple more passes with green 1mm cotton cord and black 1mm cotton cord.

Hiking staff paracord wrap

I used a single 20 foot length of olive drab paracord for this wrap on a hiking staff. I started with a simple 3 lead 4 bight Turk's Head knot, then did a series of half hitches, which forms a spiral as you make them(Chinese Staircase), and finished with another Turk's head. I may have to try this with one of my pool cues using smaller diameter cord.

A couple of years ago, a friend suggested I try using some knot work for motorcycle hand grips, a good idea that I just hadn't got around to trying. Something like this done with 'Type I' or 2mm cord might make a good hand grip for a bike.

One of my blog readers mentioned his walking/hiking staff had different knots tied on it(see comments) and that sounds like a good idea. So far I've just recently added one, but there's plenty of room to add more in the future.

I added another Turk's Head knot(6 Lead 5 Bight) using two passes with black reflective paracord from 1sks.com and one pass in between those with glow-in-the-dark cord from CoolGlowStuff.com.
