The finished length is about 30 inches. I used a swivel clip for attaching to a belt loop and a loop/lanyard knot on the other end to attach to the wallet.

Eyeglass holder/leash/lanyard/tether
I made them with 1mm tan cotton cord on a homemade 3-peg knitting spool, finished length is about 30 inches.
I got the eyeglass holder ends at a craft store, but they can easily be found online. You can also make your own with rubber o-rings and a small beads or coiled wire, which is how the store bought ones are made...

Black and green mat
I made this Ocean Plait Mat to go on my nightstand or dresser. I used 5/16" utility rope of black with a light green tracer running thru it.
When I empty my pockets of all the every day carry stuff: overloaded key chain, multitool, pocket knife, flashlight, wallet, pens, etc..., I place them on the mat so they don't scratch up the finish on the nightstand or dresser.
I followed a diagram in one of my knot books to learn this mat, but you can give it a try with smaller diameter cord and printing out this diagram from the IGKT website. The diagram is for 2mm cord, but you can adjust your printer settings to make it larger when it prints out and try it with paracord.

Here's one done with some olive drab paracord. The amount of paracord used in this mat with six turns, is about 27 feet. I'd thought about putting it on the top of my boonie hat, secured from underneath with a few safety pins... eh, maybe not.

...another Ocean Plait Mat...
I found some orange 1/2" poly rope at Walmart to use for a larger mat. It was a 75 foot length when I started, I made five turns thru the plait, and after tightening the mat up, I trimmed off about 13 feet of excess. It's hard to tell from the angle with the ruler, but the mat is actually almost two feet across. I probably could've worked the excess cord around for another turn, but after a couple of hours, I had to say 'I'm done'. This one's large enough for a table center piece or maybe a mat for outside the shower door. I'll have to find some 1" thick rope for something large enough for a front door 'Welcome' mat.
I was going to follow the pattern thru with some smaller diameter navy blue paracord that would fit between the orange cords, but the Auburn fan I made it for, liked it as it is.
