I bought some new paracord from the Supply Captain in a red/white/blue pattern. I just tried it out with a paracord bracelet and a round sinnet fob. And a cross.

They also now have a MULTI CAMOFLAUGE pattern in 550 paracord, but I didn't get any of that color so I'm not sure if it's the same as MARPAT. And the 'Type I' size paracord is available in the coyote brown color too.

0.9mm Braided Nylon Cord

I used a three peg knitting spool to make this lanyard shown attached to a Victorinox Farmer. The Ashley Book of Knots actually has a section on knitting spools and calls this a six sided sinnet. I used about 10 feet of 0.9mm braided nylon cord(40 lb test) for it and made lanyard knots to attach the ends to the small swivel clip and the small carabiner. The finished length is about a foot long between the attachments, so it's long enough to use as a wrist lanyard too.

Red, white, and blue...

Here are a couple of pocket knife fobs that I made with white 2mm nylon cord, with red and blue cotton cord as accents underneath.

I tied a Solomon bar/Portuguese sinnet/cobra stitch, then added the red and blue cords, and doubling the Solomon bar(king cobra stitch) over them.

I frayed the cotton cords at the end.  The SAKs(Swiss Army Knives)that they're attached to are a Silver Alox Lumberjack and a Blue Alox Farmer, both from Swissbianco.

Wire Ring

I'd bought some craft wire a couple of months back to try making Turk's Head rings for myself after seeing a few examples on various web sites. Here's a tutorial and a couple of others that make them in precious metals, here and another here. There are many others showing great craftsmanship if you google them.

Being the amateur knot tyer that I am, I tried making a couple as I would with cord and the wire easily gets twisted and kinked up. The one pictured was done around a 1/2" section of PVC pipe in a 5 lead 4 bight Turk's Head knot with two passes of copper colored wire and one pass in between those with silver colored wire. It came out a bit rough looking so I'll have to keep trying.

Tried another with black and green.

Knot work on a pen...

I spent some more time playing around with the 0.9mm braided nylon cord and wrapped some pen barrels(Zebra F-701).

I followed the Turk's Head knot instructions in my copy of 'The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Knots & Ropework', but here's an online tutorial you can follow for the 5 lead 4 bight Turk's Head knot. I made 3 passes, a section of spiraling half hitches(Chinese staircase), and another 5L4B Turk's Head.

I think I used around 7 or so feet of cord after tightening it up. The knotted section fits right in the crook of my hand when writing, so it's not in the way.
