Tightening it up and working the slack out is the most time consuming part of making the globe knot. The process can take a couple of hours or more, so it's not something that's gonna fit on a video demo.

You might try tying a smaller turks head knot around a sphere to get an idea on shaping the knot, before jumping in with a more complex project like the 45 face knot...

Some of the folks on the IGKT.net or KHWW.net forums may have info/links to further help you.Stormdranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291715625908183030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-87275619707478387992011-07-29T01:21:36.362-04:002011-07-29T01:21:36.362-04:00i cant seem to get the ball right and the tutorial...i cant seem to get the ball right and the tutorial either im reading it wrong or trying to tighten it after you take it off your hand wrong. got any other pages or videos that might help me out?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-60950878993882734442011-04-02T23:35:09.231-04:002011-04-02T23:35:09.231-04:00@Anonymous, the link to the 45 face globe knot tut...@Anonymous, the link to the 45 face globe knot tutorial works for me, try it again. ;)Stormdranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291715625908183030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-68262060964521858312011-04-02T23:32:58.342-04:002011-04-02T23:32:58.342-04:00Do you have a link to a tutorial that works? I'm just getting into knot tying myself....Nice. I'm just getting into knot tying myself. I finally tonight...managed to tie a monkey's fist. I started getting interested in knots for two reasons...
1. your every day use hitches, loops and whatnot are just a good idea to know how to tie.
2. a site selling monkey fist key chains..called Monkeyknuts.

So sometime back I went and bought a book of knots and then went and bought some 1/4" rope. Started teaching myself the simple stuff. But what I really wanted to learn was the monkey fist. I'd given up on it for about a month an a half and last night picked up the rope to try the monkeyfist again. also watched your vid on you tube. Between watching that again, working on it off and on since last night and actually finding the knot buried in the back of the book I bought some time ago..I got it. I think I either added a wrap too many some where or missed one somewhere though. It came out looking a little off.

Thanks Stormdrane.Da Curly Wolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07631427436506831892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-6276694486558633752010-08-04T02:54:37.678-04:002010-08-04T02:54:37.678-04:00I haven't 'clocked it', but I'd gu...I haven't 'clocked it', but I'd guess start to finish time around an hour or so, done while I watch TV...Stormdranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291715625908183030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-62203717998026721642010-08-04T02:04:25.116-04:002010-08-04T02:04:25.116-04:00how much time did this one take you?how much time did this one take you?Da Curly Wolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07631427436506831892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-786152696049318182010-08-02T19:56:15.206-04:002010-08-02T19:56:15.206-04:00Can you please post a tutorial on youtube because ...Can you please post a tutorial on youtube because i have trouble with understanding the digram.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17884734.post-66739829797807598992010-08-02T13:03:39.417-04:002010-08-02T13:03:39.417-04:00After tightening, less than 7 feet of cord was use...After tightening, less than 7 feet of cord was used for each of the knots.
