A few paracord wrist lanyards...

Paracord wrist lanyards, tied with loops/attachment points on both ends.

I added a couple of quick photos showing the the start of the sinnet, where the longer length of cord(wrist part) ends are turned back and a sinnet is started at the base of the shorter length's loop/lanyard knot, then tied up around the wrist loop strands.  Approximate lengths of cord I used were 28" for the shorter and 42" for the long, leaving 14" of the longer part for the wrist loop and sinnet back around it.

  2. Very nice! How do manage to get 2 loops (1 each end)? Thanks for posting all your great works and flashlight/multi tools collections.

  3. For loops at both ends, start with two pieces of paracord(one 28" and one 42"), a shorter length with a loop and lanyard knot, and a longer piece which forms the wrist loop. After making the loop/lanyard knot with the shorter, find the center of the longer and come down about 14", this is where you match up with the shorter strand at the base of the lanyard knot, facing opposite directions(strand ends toward each other) and start a round sinnet back towards the longer length(longer strands turned around at the knot), with it's cords in the center of a sinnet. Hemostats can help hold the cords as you start tying the sinnet.

If I can find some rough photos I took showing this, I'll add them to the post.

  4. For this project, do you gut the paracord or leave the strands in? I'm also having trouble starting the sinnet around the loop. Any hints on getting it started correctly? Thanks.

  5. I've made them with and without the inner strands, but I personally prefer them gutted.

Making the first sinnet stitch is the hardest part of this project. It takes both hands and some patience to get it started. A pair of hemostats can help as shown in the photos of the blog post.

    Keep trying, you'll get it.

  6. Those are awesome.
is it possible to put a bead between the diamond knot at the end, and the sinnet?

in the first picture, are the beads held on in some way, or could they just slide off?

  7. Sure, a bead could be slid over the strands coming from the diamond/lanyard knot, before the sinnet is tied. It would then be in a fixed non-removable position.

If the diamond/lanyard knot isn't tied, there would just be a loop for an attachment, and a bead would be removable, as long as the attachment(swivel clip, split ring, carabiner, etc...) can be removed first.

The bead slid over the wrist loop is removable, held by friction. It also serves to slide up towards the wrist when worn, changing the wrist loop size, to keep the lanyard from coming off the wrist. Sort of like a cord lock.

  8. These are really interesting and distinct personalized lanyards that would definitely stand out from the crowd! As they seem quite tricky to tie, maybe you should think about selling them! Really cool though and original. Great work!
