Turk's Head Knot on a pen

I thought I'd try a 6 Lead 5 Bight Turk's Head knot, with the 1mm cotton cord I have, on my Zebra 701 pen.

  1. Nice work on the turksheads, beautiful knots that I've always struggled with. Your doing really nice work. I was wondering where you got your 1mm cord? I am also a member of KHWW and its great to see you on there.

  2. Thanks. I got the 1mm cotton braiding cord at walmart. It's in the craft section on cards with three colors/12 yds each. Sometimes a color is not a continuous length though, it may be knotted to another length for the total and you wouldn't see it until you've started taking it off the cord.

  4. How did you tie off/bury the ends? On something non-nylon I usually end up supergluing the ends together, or else just burying them and having the cinch them back up at intervals. Just wondering if there's a more advanced technique I'm not aware of.

  5. Could you tell me a good source for 1mm, 2mm cordage?

  6. Walmart has short lengths of 1mm cotton braiding cord, and I've found nylon braided cord on ebay in the 2mm size, sold by a seller named mowfugger. R&W rope sells some called 'Handy Hundred' cord, in different colors/sizes, but I do not know of a distributor, so you could look them up(Google) and call/email them.

  7. I just trimmed and tucked the ends with the cotton cord. It's held up fine since I made it. I have used super glue on the cotton cord occasionally for more permanent applications.
