The Best of Instructables Volume I

The tutorial for the 'Paracord bracelet with a side release buckle', that I made for the Instructables website, was one of the projects chosen to go into 'The Best of Instructables Volume I' book, available from Amazon.com.

The paracord bracelet I made is even pictured on the cover with a few of the other projects. This first volume has 120+ various DIY projects. The book is supposed to be available by the end of this month(October 2008) and I'm looking forward to getting my copy and seeing the 336 pages of neat 'how to' projects within. The Instructables.com website is known as 'the world's biggest show & tell'.

  6. Thanks guys!

Yup, it used to be fun at Thanksgiving, when my Grandmamma would say 'David', and get four responses from Jr, Sr, III, and an Uncle, all named David. :)

  7. Nice, and you just got some work published in a knife book in a different language a few months ago! You really are the man when it comes to knotting. Keep it up brotha! I love seeing what you come up with for cord.

  8. Hi David,

Been enjoying your tutorials. I've just ordered some paracord so that I can try my hand at some of this stuff. What book would you recommend for the beginner? I saw your list of books in your sidebar, but don't know where to start. Thanks!

  9. A couple of good and inexpensive books for a beginner are Stuart Grainger's 'Creative Ropecraft' and Peter Owen's 'The Book of Decorative Knots'. You might also try your local library for books on knots.

  10. The tutorial for the paracord bracelet with a side-release is terrific! Thanks very much for all your hard work. I've made a few already, and I'm looking forward to making more. One question: in the king cobra example (two photographs), what color combination did you use? It looks like digital camo over tan/gold, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd love to recreate that one. Thanks again!

  11. That was ACU camo paracord over coyote tan. That particular hank of paracord had a shiny aspect to the nylon and not all coyote tan looks like that. Paracord can occasionally vary slightly in color from the manufacturer from batch to batch and sometimes the actual size of the outer sheath has been known to be slightly larger or smaller.
