Hovaczech found a macrame link showing similar diagrams to how I do the alternate half-hitch and sent it to me. The closest one is the 3-strand version, I have 4 strands with the inner two being wrapped as the core by the alternating half-hitches. I actually start off just like I'm making a regular cobra stitch paracord bracelet, adding just 1/2 inch to my actual wrist size, looping onto one end of a side release buckle, then thru the other part of the buckle, and start the alternating half-hitches there.

Stormdrane,

I was doing some surfing and came across this link:

http://www.knotingwork.com/Pages/knots/braids_chains.html

Is this similiar to what you are doing here for the watch bands? Thanks for taking the time to look.

Yes, it's similar to the 3 strand version, just that I have 4 strands with the hitches around the center two. Thanks for the link, I'd been to that site before but hadn't seen those particular diagrams.

Hovaczech's link is broken.

It's been a while since I'd been to that site, so I don't remember what exactly was on it. I've posted a tutorial for the alternate half-hitch bracelet/watchband and links for it on the blog.
